[1-31] Canon v Nikon (scroll wheel)

A more remarkable part of Canon’s cameras is the circular scroll-wheel.

It’s such a cool invention that the moment a Nikon user tries it out, they wonder, “Why am I not using Canon?”

That was me (back in ~2009).

Yet Nikon has the same feature. It just doesn’t come as a default. You can set a very similar scroll wheel to both the 1st and 2nd wheel levers.

The 1st wheel does 1 image per click. The 2nd wheel does 10 images per click.

I still think Canon has a better set-up. The full wheel (as opposed to a partial wheel that sticks out) has a better, more nimble touch. Also, Canon processes the photos differently, such that the viewing is a little bit more optimized for speed (previews load faster).

So Canon still has the upper hand.
