[7-05] f/16 v f/64?
Last week I started cracking my camera’s aperture to f/16.
Why not? It’s the smallest aperture.
At f16, we are looking f/1.4 -> 2^7 less light => 128 times less light than maximum.
f1.4
f2 => 1/2^1
f2.8 => 1/(2^2)
f4,5.6,8,11,16
The DOF increases significantly.
The f/64 group was about the same thing, and it turns out, for a 4x5” camera, a standard lens of 185mm, at f/64, as the same DOF as a 50mm on a 35mm camera at f/16.
Voila. We can join the f/16 club today.
